So hey, umm, we’re back.

I won’t bore you with the details of what i’ve been doing (or rather, what I haven’t been doing) since last May or whatever, but to make a short explanation: 9 months ago, I became blessed and overwhelmed by the sudden 5-digit-per-day audience, lost my nerve, and decided i couldn’t keep all these people happy.  So i stopped.  I know, how lame.  Over time, I came to terms with what went wrong with my creative whatevers.  And here we are, trying this again.

If you’ve come back, thanks for returning.  If this is your first time here, welcome, and i hope to keep doing this for some time.  If any of you like what’s going on here, and choose to come back on a regular basis, well bless ya.

Til then, back to work.

p.s.- No more whiny little posts like this. i’m tired of ‘em too.

It’s been a quiet month here in Problemtown…

Actually, that’s a dirty lie.  Behind the scenes, things have been a little too busy to keep the comic up to date.  I’m really, truly sorry.  My calendar is bursting with to-do things as I move into summer.  First and foremost, conventions, conventions, conventions.

Toronto was a cool experience.  Met some really nice people and saw just enough to know that I need to go back for a visit.  But onward to Summit City Comic Con this weekend, then a series of weddings, then, well, you can see the schedule to the right there.  And it keeps filling up.  Very exciting and fun to meet fans and sell some merch (which is being stocked up so that I can open the webstore, as well.)

Apart form that, I’m breaking ground on a semi-hushhush comic project, details to come, and also churning out art and revisions on a board game project with my brother-in-law.  It’s made it through its first round of play testing with flying colors, so it moves forward at an accelerated pace.  Details, also, to come.

All this, plus this bothersome need to earn that sweet IT money, add up to a healthy pile of excuses.  Plus, I’m starting to miss my wife, whom I live with.

Just gotta find some balance, is all.  Thanks for your love and patience.  But this much I can say: Problemtown is not dead or dying, it merely has a slight cough.

Into the undiscovered land of Canada

Up until 2 days ago, I had no plans (only desires) to visit Canada.  Then I was re-extended an invite from Matt Duhan at Gozer Games to join him in Toronto, ON at Anime North this weekend, May 27-29.  I’ll be hanging out with him and my ever-present partner-in-con Neko Pilarcik of

I’ve heard it can be lovely to be in a city where stabbing isn’t part of the popular culture.  I know some of you dear readers live in the Toronto area, and I would absolutely love to meet some of you and maybe go find out what Canadians like to drink at night.  I’ll be settling for the most part in the gaming area with Gozer Games at their table, or just look for the big American guy wandering around taking pictures with a big dopey grin on his face.  Please stop me and say hi.

See you in Canada, Canada!

Hey, New Website

Fancy fancy.

First off, I’d really like to thank Carol & her team at The Rampant for pulling this site together so well.  Hit them up if, like me, you don’t have the time, smarts or willpower necessary to mess with the HTMLs and the PHPs which are scary.  Professionals are helpful.

So, Welcome to the new!  We have more things now.  In addition to a style that’s not so very ‘default’, there’s function, too!  I know!  You’ve already found the blog, which I can’t promise to frequently update, but well, if you’ve been here before, you’ve probably come to expect that.  And again, I apologize.

Also! The Problemtown Chamber of Commerce will be open for trading soon, so don’t wander off too far.  Tourism is very important to the fine City of Problemtown.

Yours truly,

Mayor Randy Field
